Seven - The Art is King and a 10-Year Anniversary

SEVEN was tired of the familiar - he's a person who always has to do something new, to go where it hurts. Having gone through and revised over 100 songs, rearranging them for an unplugged session and an orchestra, his experience has grown and grown when it comes to songwriting. After all, if a song has to be played without effects, without beats, without sounds, you can hear its true essence. In celebrating 10 years in the business, he resolved to only write big songs for his next album. He was about to join the premier league.
He wrote all the songs for his new album together with Jean-Paul Brodbeck, who SEVEN came to know and value when working on his unplugged album, and who today is a permanent member of his band. He produced a demo with 12 songs of pure songwriting, which was recorded in the New York flat of the jazz pianist and featured only piano and vocals. SEVEN then spent almost a year in the studio with this powerful, raw material. The end result: "The Art is King". A liberated, cheeky album with a certain swagger about it. Rock music with just the right amount of power and anger. Powerful production with passion and edge.
An epic record for the largest of stages.

SEVEN - first album in Germany and orchestra concerts

With "Focused", SEVEN dared to bridge the gap between indie and major artists, releasing a tender collection of songs which marked his debut in Germany. It was the start of a real friendship and formed the perfect basis for his future music plans. And it did not take long: The 21st Century Orchestra was quick to want to work with him. As the son of a classical musician, who for many years played the violin himself, SEVEN was delighted. SEVEN worked together with the best in the field on this project: the Englishman Robert Emery (conductor, "wunderkind" and musical director for David Foster) and Swiss composer and producer Moritz Schneider. The demands he placed on himself saw SEVEN putting a huge amount of work into the project – and it paid off in style. In autumn 2011, 3,000 fans came to the KKL Luzern where they witnessed 70 first-class musicians at work, the fulfillment of a dream – and the end of an era. The recordings of the two concerts were a "thank you" to his fans for nine years of their loyalty and marked the end of his retrospective phase.

SEVEN - Unplugged era, raw and up-close...

After such great success, SEVEN took on his next challenges in 2010: the Swiss "Art on Ice" event and a tour of small theaters. Over the course of the tour, the 30-year-old not only discovered a new side to his music, but a new fan base as well, which gave rise to the idea of an unplugged project. By demonstrating the quieter side of both himself and his shows (where guests came attired in evening wear), he managed to win over lovers of acoustic concerts. "Unplugged" was released, and the tour was sold out every night.

2009

SEVEN - off like a rocket

SEVEN worked with British soul stars Beverley Knight and Omar as well as US rappers AMG and Talib Kweli on his 2009 album, "Like a Rocket". One of the singles from the album, "Like a Rocket" broke into the Airplay Top 10, the remix by DJ Premier became a hit, the album charted at number 2 and went gold after just a week.

SEVEN - Gold seal for his fourth album "Home"

2007 saw the release of "Home" and marked a special year for SEVEN; after all, seven is his favorite number. It's fair to say the album shone, showing a certain degree of magic of its own – the list of producers and musicians on "Home" is a long one. Commissioner Gordon (Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse) contributed, as did James Poyser, Ivan ‘Orthodox’ Barias & Carvin ‘Ransum’ Haggins (DʼAngelo, Erykah Badu, The Roots), while Sheila E., Eric Leeds and Mike Scott were there representing the Prince Band. A deep musical friendship arose between SEVEN and arranger Larry Gold (Marvin Gaye, Justin Timberlake). A sold-out tour followed including a gig at the  Montreux Jazz Festival, while BBC1 named "On & On" its single of the month. Meanwhile, "Home" achieved gold status.

SEVEN - live @ cargo & third studio album

"Lovejam" was a sensual musical diary of love. SEVEN's third album shot from nowhere to number 9 in the Swiss charts and garnered international attention, including an invitation to perform at London's Cargo club. His UK premier was a success, and just a year later he was invited to the Sundance film festival in the US. In 2006, SEVEN became the first European to ever open the legendary festival.
